Last week the O's promotion "charge" was looking a bit ropy after their 2-0 defeat at home to Lincoln.

Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling is concerned his side are still in danger of relegation after the Lincoln defeat.
Ling told the club's website: "We've gone seven games without a win now and we look like a team that's lacking in direction on the pitch.

"At this moment the bottom looks more likely than the top and we're only nine points off second bottom and they've got a game in hand.

But after a mighty 1-1 with Scunthorpe, Ling was more positive

"The winless run is eight, which is disappointing, but there was half a performance," the manager said.

"The resilience which stood us in good stead to take us away from the bottom of the table was also there.

No. This season is dead and has been since December. Theres always next year and youll just have to survive another season without a visit to the team you consider your closest rivals - leyton orient fc.

I can't help thinking that the victory twatty's crowing about on this thread (i.e. their last victory) is going to be just enough to keep them up.

York need to win both games to stay up by about 8-0. I know that they're up against Orient next week but to win 8-0 a second time away to Swansea is too much to ask. That leaves Carlisle - a win over Cheltenham is possible but then they need to go to Donny and win there. No chance.

You never know, stranger things have happened.

Ironic that Twatty's bitch-slappin' win over Southend, far from rocketing the Os into Division Two, could well be the three points that helps them cling on to league status.
