After David said 'where I don't just ask what are my entitlements but what are my responsibilities'. 'Not what am I owed but what can I give'.

I almost wept.

Not a shambles moment Lord B, a Champagne one for Britain.

That's David Cameron the multi-millionaire beneficiary of inherited wealth and the proposer of tax handouts to mansion owners is it ? Do keep up the good work, Timmy. You're worth a thousand rallies to the socialist cause.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I just had a power-cut when wasting water in a perfectly-temperatured shower. I bet that was down to Cameron, the selfish, butler-bathes-me-daily pig.

Dale... the guy in the pink shirt that sits next of me at Albion games

I've a ten inch netbook, and i type fast, the key's are compact and making order mistakes happen son

My thing with the tories is the class discrimination. Why should the dreams of children be dictated by the income of their parents? Labour have taken steps to create a true meritocracy where the limits of a person achievement during their lives is limited only by the extent and direction of their dreams. I'd rather not go backwards under the tories.

As I am married to a Headteacher who has taught everywhere from the affluent Isle of Wight to Whitehawk my experience is that the dreams of children are held back by the absolute poverty of aspiration of their parents, and not their income.

Mind you I was a grammar school boy who born of working class parents who got there by 11 Plus - not a route it is possible to take now and possibly not a fair route but an awful lot of my peers went onto good (even high flying) careers - I really doubt if that would be the case today.

From being married to someone at the chalkface I have learned that Labour have indeed chucked money at Education but a lot of it has been wasted - not that the Tories were much better but that is another story.

Do you know what scares me the most? George Osborne...the guys an absolute fool. I don't like cameron but I can understand why people who voted conservative want him as PM. However, Osborne - just like the orlginal poster of this thread is an idiot of the highest order!

My head of sixth form said on the election day, the exact opposite. The money chucked at our college of about 200 has improved life, and is only now hampered because it is actually only meant to hold a single year group of about 180 chldren, and is from the 70's. the stuff inside it and inside the main school of about 1500, its come on leaps and bounds. I do go to one of the better schools but worst colleges in the city though.

Some friends of mine are financial journalists and you are nail on the head regarding a lot of the comments made to them about gormless Gideon.

Flair play it's been a bit confusing for him over the last few years. Like most breeds of dogs some people in life are happier when they know their place.

Are you a teacher or are you a student? In what way has the money 'improved life' - are you all more cheerful when you come in in the morning?

BTW this has nothing to do with the fact that I maintain that most of our underclass are locked there due to their familial attitudes which is nothing to do with the education system as it now stands.

They dont like it I have no doubt but they have absolutely no interest in self sacrifice for their children i.e. supporting their education in the way the middle classes do - sorry I have over twenty years of observing this but please stick to your political prejudices if it keeps you happy:thumbsup:

Well we can cut the sponging dole scum money for a start. Labour created people dependent on handouts galore. And naturally voters.

Now it stops. Hopefully this will be the last of whole families going to the job centre plus - who have never done a days work - going in to claim their various allowances.

You get the grandparents and parents bringing their kids in on their 16th birthday to claim.

No intention of working and never will. Now lets hope it changes. That will make considerable savings alone.

Me? I'm a student.

I totally belive in familial attitudes being a major block on social mobility, but I think that the money that has been pumped in to education makes me a better student. As some one who has been in education since 98, i've seen a vast increase in the facilities availble to aid my education throughout my student career...

I do still see social injustice within education, largly based upon the family and individual families differences however these are things that i think a socialist government, or at the least, a left wing government will tackle and promote better than a right wing government.
