Just in: preview of the 6pm statement from the club....' We are pleased to confirm that Brighton & Hove Albion Manager Gustavo Poyet will be lighting the Olympic flame tonight. Olympic enthusiast Seb Coe explained the reasoning "Gus is f***ing God, it's that simple....chase me". The club would like to congratulate Gus by providing him with 20m to spend on Andy Carroll.

Just beginning to think are the transfers we are after realistic? Surely having a bigger budget than last year we should to be able to get these 2 players? Trouble is thats now 2 weeks, NO activity and NO real suggestion we will get them...just the same old comments from the club...... Would be good to see some tangible news...

I am starting to think that realistic or not we are going after really good quality players.

If we don't get them we go with what we have got.

Not exciting, but defo the right option. IMHO.

So, just in from the pub, and no signings, no 'biggest signing in club's history', nothing at all.

Fortnight ago, Gus said a signing was on the verge of completion; nothing.

Last Saturday, reports that Balmy was about to sign; nothing.

This week, rumours of 'massive' signing; nothing

I'm not blaming anyone (Gus, club, or posters), but I am getting seriously pissed off at having my hopes raised, and then another week goes by without a signing; another week nearer the new season without strengthening the squad, and new players who will have time to gel and settle in.

Part of me wants to stop looking at NSC until the transfer window has closed, so I can be spared all this bull-shit and disappointment.
