I think in this "PC gone mad" world, coinciding with offensive tossers such as Pork Sword, people are afraid to challenge the reasons behind why homosexuality exists at risk of sounding homophobic.

Many, probably most, homosexuals would argue (or preach) that there is nothing wrong with it in the first place, but psychologists would tell you (if they were honest) that this isn't true.

Homosexuals often live very difficult lives. Growing up for them, coming out, can be very difficult. Suicide rates amongst homosexuals is high, as is depression and substance abuse. Most will never fulfill the fundamental human desire that is creating a family.

Some scientists believe that the amount of estrogen in drinking water and/or other environmental factors are responsible - others believe it is a memetic psychological trend rather than physiological at all. There are many theories but either way the homosexual phenomenon remains unexplained, and if it is causing suffering within humanity there should be more discussion and research as to why it happens and how to cure it (if one wants to be cured).

But the suffering is not from being gay, it is society's response to homosexuality. If society truly accepted and metaphorically embraced gays, a lot of the stresses of coming to terms with ones homosexuality would disappear.

I don't think Frutos' comparison to the pigmentation of skin/hair colour is a fair one, simply because this has been explained by evolutionary and genetic science. Homosexuality seemingly serves no purpose for the survival of the species at all.

Depends on who you ask. The placenta evolved and developed because of a 'sex feud' on an evolutionary scale. The process and development of human sex and gestation is a result of a struggle between man and woman. Without the placenta, the embryo would be rejected as a foreign body.

Homosexuality, could very well be another step in that evolution, by producing evolutionarily infertile offspring (ignoring surrogacy, IVF etc).

It could very well be a population control thing, a step taken by nature to reduce our impact.

There are potential reasons that have been put forward to explain homosexuality on a genetic/evolution level.

It's not that fundmamental IT, I know many happy heterosexual couples who have absolutely no desire to have children (I'm sure you do to). The couples I know who are beyond child bearing age have no regrets about missing the opportunity either and enjoy a life of 'freedom' without any ties etc. Children and hetrosexuality don't necessarily go together, in the same way that a gay friend of mine has just adopted a six month old baby from a mother who doesn't want it as he has a strong paternal desire.

'creating a family' - again it may be just my experience, but of the people I know with children, more of them are separated and bringing up the child as separated parents than together in a 'family unit.'

If you have a problem with homosexuals and homosexuality, as you've said on here that you do, you should surely feel the strength of character and strength of conviction to express those beliefs in public, particularly when spending time with someone you know to be homosexual....and yet you don't.

Odd directions in this thread. Express problems with or aversions to gays, and get pilloried by them, or..... it's now frankness and strength of character?

One issue that has been brought up, is lesbian sex, and its' part in heterosexual male fascination. See, the difference there is that lesbian porn offers a suggestion of invitation, sex but without a male presence involved, two (or more) docking stations, four or more milk supplies (it's primal). I rarely look at two attractive women in lesbian embrace and think "those are out of the question, offer not even tabled". Most heterosexual men will think "that could be entered into", and what a perfect scenario - two female lovers making a karma-sutra mindblower.
Thus, for all the homosexual's gambit as the spanner in the homophobe's works, they are (literally) not thinking straight!!

Take two men however, and it doesn't compute for straightness AT ALL - two poles are for doing Robin Hood vs Friar Tuck battle, not for penetrating one into the other!

Also - men are understood as the sexual aggressor, the go-getter, the coercer, the positive persuader. For a hetero-sexual man getting such as approach from another man, this is rather likely to be uncomfortable. When the 'aggressor' gets even more intent - perhaps almost natural for many men if quietly refused (by woman or man depending on preference) to give it another go - the natural response from the hetero-sexual man is to start countering the homo-advancer with more aggression back at them, and a increasing disgust.

So many gays just don't 'get' these facts about human nature in sex life, and for the simplicity of these things - I reckon they are f***ing pigshit thick (doesn't apply to all, before you rampant lifters start getting shirty).

And other things;- because it seems that many gay blokes believe they have 'thrown off their inhibitions' in coming out - 1) they think it looks fine and dandy to parade it in people's faces and ASK them to be affronted! Until they really are affronted.
2) They will approach other men in toilets - which already alludes to poor hygiene/low esteem/cheapness of attitude.
3) They will approach boys below the age of any sexual consent, before they have perhaps got their own sexualities figured out. Aka Illegal and immoral.

I would suspect that, if Pork Sword and I ever met (which is unlikely and that's definitely for the best), he would have no problem in voicing his issues to my face.

HB&B, however, DOES have a problem with expressing his issues to people's faces, rather than from behind his keyboard, which was what I was commenting on.

As for the little points you make at the end of your speech about homosexuals approaching men in toilets and approaching boys under the age limit (neither of which actions can or should be condoned by anyone, straight or gay, and sure as hell aren't by me), I suggest you stop allowing the actions of a pathetic minority of homosexuals to cloud your judgement of the entire group.

Are you unable to accept that the vast majority of gay male relationships do not involve toilets, public parks, children or indeed anything else other than being basically identical to heterosexual ones in make-up? Similarly the vast majority of heterosexual relationships do not involve dogging, swingers parties, teenage girls, etc - but a small amount do.

If your idea of 'home truths' is what a small minority do, I assume you take it that all Austrians lock young girls in the basement, then? Two extremely high profile cases of that...

Similarly the vast majority of heterosexual relationships do not involve dogging, swingers parties, teenage girls, etc - but a small amount do.

Okay, I am able to accept that it's not all gays that go to toilets parks or try it with children - but that is how many, if not most straight men have encountered the homosexual in everyday culture.
If straight people dog, swing, or do teenage girls - it's usually done with consent behind closed doors, and thereby offers no front or affront to be seen by anyone, just as homosexuals doing things ...in private.
