True, true, but as a non-seagull I don't suppose you could even start to imagine what it would be like if (in the obviously unlikely event) they won the first ever match at our lovely new home.

It would be soiled for ever, I'd never go again, children would cry, mothers would weep, fathers would commit hari-kari. The sea would rise in anger and submerge Rottingdean. Storm clouds would gather over the players homes, shooting bolts of lightening at their feet. The hope of the second coming of the Lord (Peter Ward) would be lost forever. Des Lynams tash would fall off, Rachel would fall in love with The Northstander, Natalie Imbruglia would fall in love with Chapman's The Saviour - No, it's all too awful to contemplate. As has been said, Palarse would be the worst choice as they'd really want to start us off on the wrong foot. As they'll be in a lower division by then, it's surely best to keep them away for as long as possible. Meanwhile, we can knock them out of the cup(s) at Selhurst every year!
