I don't think there's a whole lot to chose between them but I cannot see why everybody knocks Jamie Oliver. The bloke has done his best to do good and positive things like encouraging school children to eat more heathily as well as tring to get young people with little hope of a life to get into his industry.

Unlike some he's not prone to swearing his head off at the drop of a hat either.

Well where do I start, we could talk about the baked beans incident or the misleading adverts he's done for Sainsburys.

Nigella, but it's got f*** all to do with her cooking.

Indeed. The T-Shirt says it all.

Nigellas cooking programme is basically pre watershed porn, I bet pervy men all around the country watch it for that exact reason, talent wise Heston Blumenthal is a genius and people will be learning from him for years to come, seems a throuroughly night chap as well. Marco Pierre White can be entertaining and the fact that he made Gordon Ramsay cry whilst Ramsay served his apprenticeship under him does make me chuckle.

So he gets paid to advertise a supermarket, how terrible. Of course no other chef endorses anything do they ?

The Supersizers programme last night was excellent. Took me right back to the day. The whole series has been unmissable to me. Catch it if you can. I think next week it's the Tudors.

And for an avowed bachelor and a lesbian who insists on living alone - they manage to get some sexual chemistry going too!!

the key word is chef which can only mean Ramsey.
Also the best businessman amongst them and off screen a much nicer bloke than you might think although I also have a lot of time for Jamie Oliver for the work he genuinely does for youngsters in the trade.

One of my claims to fame is that I went to school with Delia Smith so I kinda have a soft spot for her too

This is a strange poll as there's only one proper chef in it. Out of those mentioned it's clearly Ramsay, he's a class act. Now, if it had a been a choice of Ramsay, White and Blumenthal, it might have been a more interesting poll - but quite honestly, this is like asking which is the best football team: Manchester United, B&HA, Lewes or Doncaster Belles?

Incidentally, I've never met Ramsay but he is renowned for the high level of loyalty he engenders in his staff, a suggestion that the foul-mouthed, intolerant act of his is exactly that, an act. Kitchen staff are not renowned for loyalty and in an industry of quick staff turnover, Ramsay has an envious record.

I can't stand Ramsey.....The Foul Mouthed Act that he puts on is so poor.. He looks for excuses to blow his top and launch a foul unconstructive diatribe at some poor sod who has been set up for it.
Had to sit through a bit of F word the other week and he took his 10 Year old son hunting rabbits. They were with an "expert" using Ferrets and nets.. when a couple of rabbits escaped from un-netted holes Ramsey blurted a " Bloody Hell " to which his progeny replied " Dad, there was no need to talk like that "

So the big man doesn't usually swear in front of his kids eh ? certainly not the F word ? but, its o.k. to save up a torrent for his prime time show ?

Funnily enough he often turns up on day time tv in the usual progs, Good Morning/Richard +Judy/ Paul O'Grady and is as passionate as ever about food and cooking but strangely never utters more than a Gosh or Blimey... ? maybe he knows he would lose the valuable Oxygen of Daytime TV publicity ?

So in conclusion, I must say I am too much of a gentleman to describe him in the language he deserves....:glare:

But his public personna is now mostly all an act. No doubt he can lose it in the kitchen with his brigade, and he wouldn't be alone in that, but he has developed this public image which is what people want and expect to see. He is not at all like that in real life, and believe it or not he uis actually quite shy (well, maybe not shy exactly, but not what you'd expect).

Ramsey for me. Mainly because of the truly Celebrity chefs, he is the only one who was a top class chef first.
