1890 ish. My parents live in a cottage in Cuckfield that was built from the wood of the Spanish Armada apparently.

yep, ours is mid 1930's, well built house with debatable quality in the fixtures and fittings. My old place was built in 1728, solid is the best way to describe it, and it used to be a pub :drink:

way too small for all of us though

I don't think I could bring myself to buy a post war house, or certainly not post 1950's. . . . theyre just a bit too flimsy for my liking

what I'd really like is an old Art Deco Garage/car showroom, massive appartment to live in upstarirs and a huge workshop/showroom downstairs  I'd be happy as a pig in shit then :p
like this

or the old one they knocked down by Woodies Diner, in a better location !

house was built in 1935. Parents have owned it since 1980 and we modernised it in 1990 when we turned it from a bungalow into a challet bungalow

Way out west
The one I live in was built in about 1900, the one I don't live in was built in about 1840 and like the house someone mentioned above started its life as a pub.

Good thread - I am 1860s/1870s - which obviously can be a bit of a pain in the arse re damp etc.
