Not too far from Millau is the Viaduc de Garabit designed and built by Gustave Eiffel of Eiffel Tower fame and opened in 1885. It carries the railway line from Clermont Ferrand to Beziers.

This old railway bridge in Scotland isn't bad either..

Ardingly Viaduct. Made from 11 million Dutch bricks transported by boat along the River Ouse. The subsequent opening of the London Brighton train line jump started Brighton into being.. Gus's Bridge will have to play his socks off to jump start our brilliant team.....

Did any of these bridges cost £90,000 per week to build?

Shameless plug for entries in my blog:

Mazzy Star - 'Look On Down From the Bridge'
KRS-1 - 'The Bridge Is Over'
Fred Bridges - 'Baby Don't You Weep'
All Saints - 'Under The Bridge'

And here's JB taking it to the bridge

I've always had soft spot for Biffin's Bridge. It is renowned for its difficult access and treacherous approaches at each end but well worth a visit if you are lucky enough. Strangely, you are not always guaranteed access on your first visit and may need to go there several times before actually seeing it in all its glory.

Yes, but one slip and you're in the shit.
