I found a fiver in the St. James Street Woolworths....about 28 years ago. Where did all that time go?

Also, I chased a £1 note along the seafront, I was just about to pick it up when an old fella put his foot on it:down:, the good news was he thought it was mine:lol: and gave it to me.......so it was ice cream at Peter Pans:thumbsup:

I found a £20 note in the street and, being a good boy, handed it in - as this was 1964, it was a hell of a lot of money. I got 15s reward which I spent on a base for my model railway. Happy days.

Brighton factually.....
I have found a £50 right by the van door when i went to go to work one sat morning which was very nice, like other people on here, ive put the old steel toe capped shoes over a few £10s & £20s down the pubs and clubs of old camden town. However my fav was walking home from an allnight mod/ska affair in finsbury park back to camden at about 5/6 o`clock ish and i had lucked out chasing tail.Anyway i was just about to cross the rd at york way / camden rd and a big truck pepped his horn and swung left into york way.I was just about to slur something when a box, papers & magazines flew out from the back of the van. I looked about, no one in sight yippeee i ran over and to my dismay it was empty, the papers were just sunday specials........However the magazines.........Yes all porn about 50 including the odd one with dvds.........mmmm i look about, i cant take these all without someone seeing me....! empty box, short walk home (alone remember) and i stayed in all sunday.

 That must have been hard.

Not really.

When I lived here as a student, I dropped a wallet with a similiar amount on the tube in central London. Can't quite remember why I had it, I was certainly skint at the time. It was probably the student loan.

An old man picked it up and handed it in.

I've never forgotten that and whenever I find a wallet or something similiar I always hand it in.

A friend of mine found over two and a half grand in cash on the mean streets of Streatham. Given some of the nefarious activities which go on around the High Road, God only knows whose it had been before.

He did the right thing, handed it in to the old bill. Collected the lot three months later, or however long it was, I don't recall exactly - nobody claimed it. :smokin:
