Pink Floyd's" Dark Side Of The Moon". It was 1973.

Difficult to beat that imo:bowdown:

Mine was Sheet Music 10cc...I think they were being deliberately ironic so no obvious jokes please.

Leg out of the bed
All Mod Cons by The Jam on vinyl

Had to take it back twice. The first one was warped and the second one had a big chunk taken out of the side. Got there in the end though and was worth the wait

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

Jethro Tull - 'Aqualung', I guess I must have got it in early 1972. I do remember that for the previous Christmas I'd been given my first LP which was T. Rex's 'Electric Warrior'. This was given to me by an extremely well-meaning but out-of-touch aunt. I USED to like T.Rex but I'd gone off them as Bolan had 'sold out'.

Sir Normal Gull - Good call on Tarkus! Excellent album!

I am in good company then - that was my first too, I would have been 10 at the time. I must confess that I think I only bought it cos my brother wanted it (and I later sold it to him). Have since bought it again at least 3 times.

Ardingly
Piledriver - Status Quo

Plus Woolies did use to sell compliations of last months pick of the pops. Always had a dolly bird on the front. Truly dreadful cover versions but they filled a niche at the time and were affordable.

Probably one of them Now That's What I Call Music compilations.

First single was 'Country House' by Blur. On tape.
