v Swindon 16/12/67, an exciting 0-0 draw.

A couple of notes on earlier postings, the Torquay game in Aug 68 was my 1st evening game and a cracking match too.

The Birmingham cup game was also a cracker with over 20,000 there.

I don't believe we played Colchester during clough's brief reign/ May have been Chesterfield in a goaless bore.

It was.

It was the fact that it was an EVENING game that made it so special. As we walked up the road, there was a GLOW in the sky which got brighter and brighter until we could see the floodlight pylons. Then, walking up the steps and into the West Stand, seeing the pitch for the first time.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

Brighton v Liverpool.......early 80's.

I used to live off new church road and you could hear the crowd on match days.

No idea would have been mid 70s. We used to stand next to the dug out on chairs, well a bar stool actually.

Those were the days kids - your dad was allowed to bring in a bar stool in for you to stand on. Remarkable when you think back, so was 70p to get in.

Got a shock the other day watching Brighton v Norwich FA cup quarter final.

If you've got a copy - the boy banging the roof of the tunnel as the players go off at half time is me.

Unless I had very long legs then (which I didn't) - I would have been standing on a bar stool.

Brighton versus Derby County League cup 1976.

Derby were the reigning league champions.

Brighton had beaten both West Brom and Ipswich in earlier rounds, who were both top sides then pushing for Uefa cup places.

Anyway. Peter Ward scored after 38 seconds but Derby equalised during the first half.

We went on to lose the reply 2-1.

Was that the game that Wardy played in? trying to think who else played. Laurie Cunningham? Peter Barnes? If it's the game I'm thinking of there were a lot of players in that game who eventually made the full England team.

i was intrigued by this, so have just found the match programme (how sad)
the squad was:

j middleton (forest)
p bradshaw (blackburn)
p hinshelwood(scum)
p futcher(luton)
p haigh(hull)
d peach(saints)
s sims (leicester)
g owen(man city)
p reid (bolton)
g rowell(sunderland)
s williams(saints)
a curbishley(west ham)
p barnes(man city)
L cunningham (west brom)
j deehan (villa)
s elliott(sunderland)
P WARD:)bowdown:)
t woodcock(forest)
