I'm genuinely interested. Working on a web project and need to know what is typical these days.

If you don't know/are a non-techie, right click on your Windows DESKTOP, select properties, then Settings. The slider bar should tell you.

PS And, just to clear things up, I'm talking day-to-day use, not special cases (ie games).

1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 are the most compatible.

Plasma screens are flying off the shelves to replace toe old convectional monitor.....

Back in East Sussex
1280x1024 as that's the native resolution of my work screen.

My attempts to explain native resolution to other people I work with have all failed, and they set their screens to other resolutions: and struggle to read the horrible blurry text.
