Personally the sooner its ditched the better, people who come here should be assimilated!

It was promoted by socialists who have no culture to subvert and supress British culture, hence all the abuse from the ilk of jack straw and even on this board there are snide remarks about Anglo-saxons. All aceptable apparently, well not in my book.

No they are not. Seeing multiculti cannot be nailed down legally or scientifically its left to a greater exstent to peoples perceptions.
Its called an attitude survey. To give a definition would invite people to vote it down who didn't agree with the definition.

But what would i know? I'm just an Anglo-saxon wog.

I think you'll find that 'the plot' is way back there, where you lost it loon.

Nobody is FORCED to be involved in multicultural activity, but don't peek around your lacey curtains saying "ooh I wish they would stay in Jamaica and grow dreads and sit on the porch with colourful hats". Just heat up your black pudding and get back to watching Michael Palin and tell your mates how interested you are in seeing other nations and their cultural ways of life, and how much you enjoy a good curry.

Personally, I love the idea of having cultural diversity just on my doorstep - show me yours and I'll show you mine.

I may be a sci-fi geek but I immediately think of the Borg when I think of the word 'assimilate'!

I'm not sure the Borg were too popular with the rest of the universe.

As a 12 year old, I moved to Birmingham, then still a predominantly white city. I had previously lived in Yorkshire, London and South Wales - and my parents were Geordies. Before that, we were East Midlanders and Irish immigrants and lowland Scots.

I was proud of my roots and, even at that age, was conscious of how places were different from each other. And how life was better because those differences contributed to my knowledge of myself and the quality of life that flowed from that.

Sussex is different as well. I have no roots here, but have now lived here most of my life. I have acquired friends and new relatives from other diverse cultures, including places very far away.

These differences are what defines multi-culturalism. The more components, the better things are.

"Getting rid of" multiculturalism is an attack on me and my knowledge of myself. I'll vote to keep it.

Isn't it funny how the majority of people have voted to get rid of it (11-9 as I write this), but noone has actually posted saying this. THAT is what is wrong with this country, people are too scared to say what they really think for fear of being accused of being racist.

I voted for 'Needs some work', by the way.

Err, how the hell do you think you are going to do away with something that is already an established fact? Hey, I know, how about a bit of ethnic cleansing, or maybe a couple of festive concentration camps?

No, it really is because they're generally too thick to be able to string a couple of articulate sentences together to explain why they irrationally hate different cultural influences. The "I hate wogs" approach doesn't go down too well in polite society any more, that's true enough :)
