Ahem.... why Brisbane? It's a suburban sprawl.

Nice to be near the Gold Coast or pop over to Stradbrook Island, but otherwise fairly non-descript innit?

Have to say Brisbane never struck me as a suburban sprawl at all. Struck me as a handsome compact city built around the river.I'm sure it has got suburban sprawl, but then again what city hasn't. Now Surfers Paradise, THERE's a mess IMHO. Croydon with glorious beaches.

Things I enjoyed about Brisbane include:

a) The ferries
b) The casino
c) The Museum of Modern Art
d) The old Victorian part by the CBD
e) The Gabba
f) Picassos pizzas
g) The climate

I also love the fact I can fly there with Emirates from Gatwick and be in Byron Bay in no time at all. 28 hours door to door, last time. What's not to like?

It does not need a campaign by Fanshawe to boost its flagging self esteem. As we look to Sodom in the distance past the top of Rottingdean pitch and putt, we breath a sigh of relief that ours is still a world of 99s and not 69s.
