Don't forget Man Utd played an integral part in scrapping away teams receiving a portion of the gate receipts. Thus widening the financial gap between teams/leagues even further.

This whole anti English teams in Europe thing really does perplex me. I dislike Utd and Chelsea in domestic football as mush as anyone, and their plastic supporters who invade my local, never to be seen again until the next match etc etc.
However, for the last ten minutes of that Utd game tonight, I was on the edge of my seat, not quite biting my nails, but willing Utd to to score a 2nd, or at least keep the Spanish team out, and cheered loudly when the final whistle went. I'd prefer Liverpool to beat Chelsea, but to be honest, I can't wait until the ALL ENGLISH final in 3 weeks time.
A few years back, I remember Feyenoord playing Spurs in a European game, and as my wife at the time was from Rotterdam, and I sort of supported Feyenoord, I started watching the game supporting Feyenoord. It didn't last long though. At the end of the day, I am English, the team, whoever they may be and whatever they may stand for domestically, are representing the English league, so quite simply, I want them to win.

Good points, but you are wasting your time. The United-haters will ignore all that and come up with all sorts of spurious reasons to justify their hate. It's fashionable, and so childish, but they enjoy it.
You can't reason with them and some of them seem to be more passionate about hating United than supporting the Albion. I presume that if the Albion became a club like United, they would withdraw their support and find another club.
