TV Trailers at the end of episodes

Does anyone else get exceedingly pissed off with trailers at the end of a particular TV programme almost giving away exactly what is going to be on the next episode?

Last night, Waking the Dead was brilliant...Trevor Eve plays it extremely well....anyway, therr was a decent cliff hanger at the end of the show and then we had a "this is what is in tomorrows episode"....it almost told everything that was going to happen with clips from the show.

Totally ruined it.

Anyone else get hacked off when they do that?

How do you know they "almost told everything that was going to happen" / "totally ruined it" if the next show hasn't been on yet?

Not really, no. If finding out what happens next on Eastenders, registers as a crisis in your life, I'd say its good for YOU.

where did I mention eastenders

where did I say its a crisis?

Blimey...who pulled your chain?

well as a point in fact, the French oppo was shot and the cliff hanger was she was seriously injured....the shot (sic) in the trailer was of her in another scene...

One of a few examples

I quote, "pissed off"..."hacked off"..

Seems a real issue for you. I'd just let it go if I were you. It's only telly.

He's not even a real detective that Trevor Eve, anyway.

As a MILD tangent to this thread, does anyone else find that film trailers now show absolutely ALL the best bits of the film, leaving no surprises whatsoever ? Casino Royale was one of the worst for this - it has a clip from just about EVERY action sequence in the entire film (although I still bloody loved that film anyway). I know they have to make the trailers exciting to tempt you in, but jesus, don't show us the whole bloody thing INCLUDING the ending. Its worse than reading SPOILERS.

When you look at the trailers from older films (often on the DVD extras), they just give you a fleeting TASTE of what its about. THATS how it should be.

What you mean Mr 10 is those teaser shots which show the gorgeous female lead beginning to disrobe enticing the watching of the whole jabloobi only to find that the full film at the enticing point then cuts to the male hero in sweaty vest blowing up a bridge.

I give up...

Don't.

Dave do you (cos you are prob the oldest poster) remember those Flah Gordon serials? How did you deal with Flash falling to his death into the gaping mouth of a flame ridden pit at the end of one episode only to find that he saved himself by clinging to a tiny cragg at the start of the next one.

Totally agree with you, Dave. They do it on all the 'showpiece' series and it ruins the next expisode! I have to turn over quick.

The only time they're of any use is if you're planning to be doing something else when the next episode's on. Then you can watch the trailer and not bother with the programme as you know you've already seen the best bits and the rest will be just filler.

Along with excessive Health and Safety rules and over-zealous Political Correctness it's probably one of the worst things about Britain today.

Because when you watch the next episode you realise that you'd already seen the best bits the previous week in the trailer.

No sweetie, don't remember Flash Gordon.......back inthe 60's when I lived in SA, the weekly serial we had on Saturday mornings at the flix was Zorro. ( there was no TV is SA them days)....and a group that used to play called the Fireflies who were one of the first tribute bands who played Monkees stuff.
