[Albion] Tuchel announces his first England squad tomorrow, are we expecting any Brighton players to make the cut?..

Reckon Hinsh will be in it to be honest.

He's exactly the kind of player England likes - young, talented, good statistics.

Only a super clappy seagulls fan would say he’s ahead of, say, Morgan Rogers atm.
Right now Hinsh is your archetypal England under-21 international, with the hope of better to come.

You wouldn't say that, if only because they play in different positions

Both midfielders, although fair enough Rogers more attacking. The point stands though, Hinsh is behind a few in that age range. He’s coming on nicely though. The U21s is the right place for him to develop.

FWIW I'm not pushing for a call up just yet, though by the same token it's a bit premature for Wharton to be getting recalled. If anything Hinshelwood is much more versatile positionally.

Unpopular suggestion - could that be his undoing?

Well, it's been the source of hype around and frustration with another England international, Alexander-Arnold, so it's entirely possible it'll play out similarly with Hinshelwood. He has a decision to make as he gets older as to whether he wants to be a utility player.
Just to add to this - I think Hurzeler's arrival has been good news for Hinshelwood insofar as the manager has tried to give him consistent minutes in midfield and play him at fullback only as a last resort.

If the squad was being decided solely on form across the whole of this season from the top leagues, which it obviously won't be (Whoscored ratings, so a decent indication but not definitive), it would be... interesting. Have taken out injured players. Three from Palace, zero from Albion.

Pickford, Pope, Henderson

Tarkowski, Wan-Bissaka, Cresswell (Toulouse), Spence, Guehi, Tosin, Mitchell

Palmer, Bellingham, Eze, Gibbs-White, Rice, Maddison, Tavernier, Foden

Kane, Bowen, Gordon, Solanke, Hudson-Odoi, Gittens, Greenwood (😐)
Greenwood has / is changed / changing nationality to Jamaica

Dan Burn getting a call up apparently.
That’s an interesting one, I guess Dan gives his absolute all, 100% of the time … you can perhaps see a logic there, but surely against the best he’d come up short in every respect except height…

Good for him though, and it’s a genuine Albion link of sorts 😶

None of our players have come up through the "England system", so nobody will be picked.

Although all the usual failures will be.

Steele, Webster, March and Hinsh have all played at various levels of the age groups, yet have no full England caps. Dunk who never figured in the age group squads has been a regular in squads (even if he didn't play that many games) and went to the Euros. So your theory doesn't play out.

Brighton win a lot more games and points with Jack Hinshelwood than without him.

People underestimate the shit out of this player.

Age won't come into it. Tuchel is a temporary appointment, a mercenary. He's only here for next years World Cup. He won't be interested in "blooding" anyone for the future, there's no succession plan now beyond USA 2026.

The notion of developing future England players isn't in Tuchel's remit. Its simply all about next year - thats it. That was the choice the FA made. Its a choice for the here and now.
You talk about the World Cup as if it's some insiginificant warm-up tournament and not the pinnacle of international football. There's no question that the World Cup in 15 months should be the priority; now is not the time to be blooding young players that might hit peak-career age in time for the 2028 Euros.
