The last large war we were in was governed by a national unity government. Johnson compared Covid to war. I don't think the government of Ukraine would agree with that though.

There is a chance that a unity government would have dealt with Covid better but there is also a chance that it would have turned into a horse designed by a committee.

I'd rather reflect on the fact that Boris and his party were given the task of looking after the country in that period and appeared to have numerous "work meetings" while ordinary, working, middle and upper class people couldn't bury their loved ones in a dignified manner.

Yep, I was “lucky” my Mum died a month before Covid, as we were able to say proper goodbyes.

I can’t imagine the anguish of families that lost someone during that period and weren’t able to do the “right thing”, but know that Boris Johnson felt it his duty to say goodbye to people when they moved jobs!!!

I think he's playing it on different lines though. He's not out to get Johnson personally - he's aiming to win the next general election. To that end, he's telling the electorate 'it's not just Johnson who is a pile of shite - the Tory party as a whole backs this tosser; so you can't trust ANY of them'.
