'Savanta'??? Poll for the Independent...

A poll for The Independent carries about as much weight for me as a pop up telling me there are thousands of women who want to meet me.

I’m guessing you’re not a Daily Mail reader either?

“Savanta ComRes is a market research consultancy based in London, England……The company is prominent in the British media through its regular voting intention polls for ITV News, and the Daily Mail.”

Also, I’m not sure of the timeline or when the known parties fit in to that line but the concept of “bubbles” wasn’t introduced for any situation for quite some time into lockdown.

From memory it was child care bubbles, followed by support bubbles.

I'd imagine the first was always there out of necessity, it allowed (for instance) your brother to move in with you for a few days whilst your wife and child had yet to return from their lockdown Christmas in the Midlands with the Grandparents.

I know, my neighbour told me.

Bubble 'innit.

Yeah but .. Polls commissioned by papers have an agenda ... Hence the questions I used to get asked by the likes of YouGov.

'Would you prefer to have flexible working hours

A: Yes

Result 90% of people like the idea of zero hour contracts.

...that sort of thing.

Which one did you click on ?

There's only 2 women who want to see me ever again.

One's my mum and the other is a psycho hose beast who wants to meet anyone with £20 in their wallet.

...hopefully I'll see both of them soon.

EDIT. Not at the same time.

Gods country fortnightly
Two-thirds of voters think that Boris Johnson should quit if he is criticised in Sue Gray’s report on the Partygate scandal that has rocked Westminster.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/sue-gray-report-latest-boris-johnson-b2085792.html

But lets face it pretty much 2/3 of voters don't vote Tory.

Still the majority of Tories think are prepared to look the other way with regard to Johnson, purely on the basis it gives them the best chance of an electoral victory

Meanwhile, nothing to see in todays Murdoch and Rothermere rags...

AFTER the Sue Gray report is released the police MUST reopen their investigations into DownIt Street parties.

Afterall they reopened their investigations into Starmer and it looks like they "missed" the evidence in the published photos and the verbal evidence presented in the media yesterday.

Partygate building up a nice head of steam again. Should be some Must See TV today, starting with PMQ, then hopefully BJ having to respond to the Sue Gray report in parliament

as long as there's enough people who quote have never voted Labour and can't envisage any circumstances under which I would. unquote

you'll end up with Johnson as your leader, laughing in your face, billionaires increasing and the poor getting poorer.

If you've spent 40 years buying into Thatcherism and ticking the blue box, saying socialism doesn't work, don't cry when your sky high energy bills land on your door matt. That's your low tax, low regulated, sold off free market economy you voted for

Evidence out of Australia suggests that with a little bit of political nous a smaller political group can, indeed, bring down a government without the voters needing to move their vote from right-wing to left-wing. Liberals have (on current count) lost 17 seats. ALP has only gained 8 (with 5 seats still to declare, where Libs lead in 2, ALP in 2, and Greens in 1). Greens have gained 2 (could be 3), and the "Teal Independents" have gained 5 (!) to have a power base of 6 seats.

The final result could see the Australian parliament with as many as 10 seats held by strong pro-climate groups (4x Greens and 6x Teal) in the lower house, and as many as 13 in the Senate (12x Greens and 1x pro-climate Independent).

The Teals have done so well because they positioned themselves as fiscally-right but pro-climate, pro-integrity, and targeted Liberal seats where the ALP/Greens have never gained traction.

Wonder why there was a delay between his last briefing and leaving do ?

Oh yes of course, lockdown. How silly of me.

:lolol:

Nope - the last briefing was because he moved into Lee Cain's job. His leaving do was when he then departed from that job.

He will wriggle out of it as usual, and, the slide to becoming a banana Republic will continue ..... looking forward to the poor Cabinet and senior MP's who will be rolled out to try to say that a lie is not a lie over the next few days.

BBC Breaking that the report has been delivered to Johnson.

Be interesting to see whether Johnson's attempts to persuade her to ditch it at their recent meeting has had any impact on the content.

I would like to know why she would have even agreed to a meeting if she was supposed to be "totally independent".

I live in hope that the report provides proper condemnation of the PM's behaviour. But I do fear the worst. Tory MPs on R4 this morning saying it's all over and it's time to "move on"
