1. Micky Adams, built the team from nothing and 2 consecutive promotions.

2. Mark McGhee, took a very average team to one division from the premiership.

3. Steve Gritt, kept the club in the league, if we had gone down we wouldn't have a club now.

Your choices?

1)Micky Adams :Dragged the club up by its shoelaces got rid of all the shit and set solid foundtions

2)Steve Coppell :Would of been Number 1 if he could of kepted us up.If Knight had got him in the summer of 2002 rather than hinsh this club would still be in the championship now

3)Brian Horton :Again left too early put brought in Hart and had us in the play offs when he quit the club

1. Mark McGhee - reinvigorated a fading team by bringing in a mixture of youth and experience for next to no money. Tactics were spot on towards the end of the season to help us beat far better footballing sides.

2. Peter Taylor - again revitalised a fading team. Least defeats for an Albion boss in history speaks for itself. Brought in Junior Lewis.

3. Steve Gritt - Made one cash signing who scored the goal that kept us up. Managed to bring in a sense of team spirit to a team that had had none for over a year.

1. Micky Adams - The guy's God

2. Mark Mcghee - Took us up in amazing fashion and kept us up..something coppell couldnt do. took us down...but only due to lack of backing board wise - Hero!

3. Peter Taylor - Dont like the bloke...but Still gained promotion with us and gave us one of our championships. A very fun year to be watching us.

I'm not going to get into a Mcghee debate, AGAIN.

Taylor won a Championship that Adams had already won. Taylor almost LOST us that title then deceided to f*** off.

I'm with you mate.

These people can't take into account the kind of club that managers inherited and what they did from there.

magoon only just managed to scrape us up into the Championship by the skin of LEON's boots, a player he contrived to then get the worst out of. We were lucky that Virgo came good when he did, and watching our tactics should have made anyone with any sense realise that, with Leon Knight, we only had to support the fellow with a player who could link with him and get accustomed to his intelliegent lay-offs and perceptive runs.

Currie was playing immaculate pinpoint crosses into the box but no-one ever got in front of the keeper! The lad could hit a melon from 100 yards forcrissakes, why didn't we have one 'melon' who could get on the end of a cross?

Magoon also dismantled our squad by shedding anyone who objected to his endlessly unimaginative tactics - leaving us with what really-was a lower-dovision squad.
I wondered for a long time, how that bloke could ever be called a manager - and his attitude about games that ''don't matter'' was icing on a very tasteless cake - he was suet, Dean Wilkins is already marzipan!

That is the biggest load of TOSH I've ever seen posted on here.

How can taking a team that wasn't top when he tookover to the Championship be classed as almost losing a title that was already won?

Can someone please explain what steve coppell achieved at this club? Im trying hard to find anything barring relegating us. Did he win us the league? Play-off final experience at cardiff? Save us from going out the football league?

What did this bloke really do, except help us end up bottom of the league and then run away?

Maybe i exaggerated a little. I do however, truly believe that had Adams been in charge, we would have won that title at a canter.

So it was just luck that McGhee brought back a player, who was about to be given a free transfer, saw the potential in him and coached him to the point where he was one of the most important players in our team?

Here's hoping wilkins can get some similar 'luck'.
