he did the same on the way back from huddersfield - more than happy to consume our crate of strongbow, do photos and answer questions

top man and no visible ego either - he comes across as a man who just wants to get hammered at an away game, with the obvious additional bonus that he is f***ing minted and has single handedly bailed the club out of a tight spot by paying for a stadium

I reckon I had a great deal....I gave him a can of Stella, and he gave us a Stadium!

wilko... that is THE best ever line and made me laugh so much!
thank you

He is well known as a freeloader when it comes to booze. Claims he has no money
Yep. That's my experience of the time he "bought a round of drinks" for the Falmer For All team in the Sportsman. Only when every drink was poured did he admit that he wasn't carrying either cash or a card.

Fortunately, Mr Hebberd was on hand and trouble was avoided.

Yes, let's pick on the man for being tight at the bar, when he's paid £100 million quid for a new stadium we're all going to enjoy. That's ONE HUNDRED MILLION QUID.

:shootself

Believe it or not ... I was one of the Tony Bloom crowd at the time.

Do people REALLY believe this nonsense about the Falmer For All team not getting on with Tony? Jeez.

Only because some people continually fan the flames.

Christ how quickly a light-hearted thread about our wonderful chairman having a jolly on public transport disintegrates into one of conspiracy theories! Only on NSC

I was on the 6.02 and it was an amazing scene. More importantly it really hit home how lucky we are to have a down to earth man of of the people like Tony. He had no problem with chatting to fans and didn't lose patience with even some of over exuberant. When he walked into our carriage beer in hand up went the chant ' Tony's on the Stella'.

It got more surreal at St Pancras as we escorted him down the platform singing his praises much to the bemusement of other passengers. He joined in with the Championes chant and even sported an Albion Jester hat.

Amazing scenes and it just really hit home that we are just so lucky to have such a down to earth guy who can relate to normal fans and shares our passion

I love all of this about Tony, but Spurs in the first game........................................to me thats disappointing, I am still living on the Real Madrid rumour, that I can get excited about, but a Spurs reserve team, that I cannot.
