Tony Bloom on train back from Nottingham

Couldnt believe the sight of Tony Bloom getting onto the 18.02 train from Nottingham.

He was on his own, which was wierd, and you might have thought he would fly, be on team coach, or have a driver
All I can think is that he wanted to be with the fans

Amazing scenes as we were nearing St Pancras, all the chants "Tony Bloom is magic etc", the train was rocking, and Tony necking cans of Stella
And in the station itself escorted by loads of fans, much to the bafflement of other travellers, the chanting continued

He joined in the "campiones" chant, but not palace ones because of the language! (he said)

He told me that he was on his way to his London home, I think he said it was near Kings Cross, and was diplomatic when I asked about last weeks Spain trip, I did enquire how much of a pissup/holiday it had been

It was clear he loved every minute of the attention, and the thanks he received.

I reckon I had a great deal....I gave him a can of Stella, and he gave us a Stadium!

He is well known as a freeloader when it comes to booze. Claims he has no money and comes out with the all too familiar line of spending £100 million on a stadium for some Southern based team. He must think we are mugs to believe that :jester: :amex:

He was brilliant on the train, making his way along the carriages talking to the different groups of fans. He came and sat with the five of us for about ten minutes and he was hammered! The scenes at St Pancras were great too. Top lad...

We were sat next to him in First Class for the journey back. He seemed like a really nice guy and despite a constant stream of fans coming up to him for photos, questions and autographs he was very friendly and extremely patient with some of the more demanding fans. Things he did say were:

* we may play spurs at Falmer for first match and again in Portugal

* Shirt sponsor next season will be Brighton&Hove Jobs.com

* His son (who is 3 or 4) will be the mascot for the first league home game at Falmer

Great guy and an Albion legend.

Far beit for me to mention the complete cretins we had as chairmen in the past who put us out to to the non-stadium wilderness for years, but we've been bloody lucky to have Dick Knight and now Tony Bloom, who have brought us in from the cold. I would have given him a beer too...

That man is class and that is not based on money but on actions.

He acts like a real fan and i bet many other clubs would love to have a chairman that really supports the team. :)
