Some organisations, including the one I work for, take a very dim view of people sending defamatory or offensive e-mails from a work computer. Many regard it as a disciplinary matter, particularly if it is proven that it has shown their company in a bad light, in many cases it can lead to termination of employment. The difficulty may lie in proving exactly who sent the e-mail and what their intention may have been, I am sure that your legal representatives will already have advised you in relation to this.
