Tesco Holmbush has juice, I didn't get any but had to manoeuvre my way through the HUGE tailbacks across the roundabout.... this isn't going away despite the governments denials and "look over there " shtick...

From what I read it appears to be a mixed picture across the country but I have just returned from my first fuel hunt since this all started and it was as every bit as hellish here in North Essex as I had feared.

I managed to get what I needed but the queues suggest we are still some days from seeing the back end of this.

Do you honestly think Starmer and Rayner would have got us through Covid and Brexit any better ??

Miles better.

We'd be in the single market so would have the drivers and care workers etc etc to get us through this crisis

And as for covid, we've had objectively the worst outcomes in lives lost and economic damage done in the world, so i'd say, "yes, they would"

I found out today, Keir Starmer’s sister is a care worker on £10 an hour, so he’ll know exactly what her workload and lifestyle will be.

I managed to get £30's worth on monday so I'm fine for another week I hope.... but, It's not getting any better, government talk they they are seeing shortages easing ( despite denying there were any shortages for 4 days ) are obviously well wide of the mark. Had to go to Brighton and back today and of the 4 petrol stations I passed just the one had juice and a massive queue. This is what we expect to see in Venezuela, Zimbabwe or Russia !

And still the denial that Brexit was the biggest and most arrogant self inflicted act of stupidity for decades.

There were warnings all through the process. Brexit is going to cause massive shortages and chaos. It was written off as Project Fear. Now it’s life in Britain.

Indeed we got what we voted for ( well I didn't ) and we now bounce around from one shortage to another as prices rise, millions go in to, or further in to poverty and the nation becomes an international basket case.

This is EXACTLY the sort of well-intentioned undertaking that is prolonging this fuel issue via the law of intended consequences.

Like all these mad Facebook groups that are communicating fuel stations that have just had a delivery. Everybody from miles around is descending on them and bleeding them dry as quickly as they are replenished, resulting in no confidence that supply and demand will re-balance. People see the queues and believe that the situation isn't going to rectify anytime soon.

What we really need is to just let supply rebalance a bit, restore confidence to stop people panicking and we'll all be back to normal. All things like this do is drain the system as quickly as it is refilled with abnormal demand levels.

It's not quite on the same level as running into a crowded theatre and shouting "fire" but a little like running into a crowded theatre and shouting, "That fire that was put out? How do you know it's really out?"

This isn't a problem that can be solved by some homespun software that undermines what the fuel-retailing industry is trying to do and is entirely counter-productive to the national and collective good
Take your point but there wasn't the rabid behaviour and massive queues in Portugal. I guess the Portuguese are just more sensible and nicer than most Brits! Proof being they elect sensible Socialist parties.

Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
Just come back from Burgess Hill to Brighton. BP garage in Burgess Hill closed. Garage just before the lights at Hassocks, closed. BP garage by The Plough, closed. BP garage by the Rabbit Roundabout, didn't look very open. Esso garage in Patcham, open but queueing back well past the Black Lion.

My experience too when out and about today. Yet news reports say only 25% of sites had to close because of no fuel - if this true they must all be in sussex!
