The planning committee meeting has just started at work, with a few protestors hanging about outside the council offices, and some making it into the gallery to watch the meeting

Could get interesting later on today

How many of them are wearing BROWN TROUSERS and SANDALS?

I can see the argument for a countywide approach (although I still suspect that Newhaven suits Tory ESCC and formerly Neo-Labour now Tory B&HCC) but I fail to see why a recycling plant is not a better long-term option than an incinerator.

I presume by the way that a large number of lorries will be required to deliver rubbish to Newhaven using two small roads?

But don't a large number of lorries already use the A26 for the Beddingham Landfill? i see all through the day Wealden Didtrict lorries using the A259 through Seaford on their way to Beddingham via A26 and when on my travels Brighton Lorries turning off the A27 for the A26. I'm not sure the lorry numbers will be any greater than now.
