How on earth have you got that, from that?

Because it's not?

Don't come on here with all your logic and due process, and waiting for actual facts. This thread isn't about that sort of nonsense, rumour, twitter, hearsay, innuendo please!

I can't cope with this even being a possibility.

I waved him goodbye after Brum, and was quite happy, as it was so much fun while it lasted.

Please don't tease, I couldn't handle only just getting on the rug, before it's pulled out from under us.

Ameobi would destroy the Championship. Did he play upfront for Newcastle at the Amex? If so, I reckon he could be a great championship striker.

by help, does Poyet help in football sense, ie quality or in the sense of spanish speaking like the guy from Arsenal who has been linked?

guessing a spanish speaking player would be more inclined to work for a manager who speaks their lingo, like Benitez at Liverpool, or the french players at Arsenal. Vicente has also said that spanish players are better technically, so if we can get them, I am all for some additional spanish flair

Bloody Hell I hope he stays. Didn't manage to see him in the flesh last year. Looks like the best player to have ever pulled on the stripes from that video.

He might be a lovechild of mine!...
Shes 90 ...to explain this all to her would take most of the evening.... im not sure how she is related to them, but something on my grandmothers side.
i first heard about the connection when the older Bloom was on the board.
Family funerals seem to be where she has met him mostly, and bless him, he gave her a lift home after the last one....
She was asking me if id heard of him haha..lovely man, lovely, made sure I was ok, and brought me home, very normal, lovely man...

That's such a lovely story, When my nan passed away we informed the club that her ST needs stopping and they sent blue and white flowers to here funeral with a card.

That's partly why I love this club so much I know they really are part of the community. I doubt you get that with Man U or Chelsea etc.

Just wondering if the fans love of Vicente has had any part in his decision making?

At Valencia he was swimming with other big fish in a big pond, at Brighton he is the big fish and the fans never stopped singing about him and surely he must have noticed the Spanish theme at Barnsley.

Do you think the Brighton fans outward displays of affection for Vicente have played a part?

After the last game of the season, his car was parked next to ours in Bennetts Field. My 13 year old left him in note under his windscreen wiper, in his best Year 9 Spanish. "dear Vicente. Please, please stay" with a smiley face. If he does sign it will have been WHOLLY down to that. Probably.

He genuinely seemed impressed and humbled at the last game at the Amex when they walked round the pitch and Gus pointed out the flags dedicated to him.

Not sure how much it helps, but it certainly can't hurt!

Just a shame so many fans chose to join the beer queue rather than showing their appreciation of him and the other players

Is that Gardner the Palace CB? Has he def signed and left Palarse then? Quality if that's true, he's not bad atall. In fact, without knowing anything re Lee the other 3 signings are very good - think u'll do well this yr.

To be honest im quite happy we are making signings just hope they work out, be nice to avoid a relegation battle and build from that the season after , mid table first season i think anyone would take that , just signed another today , Chris mcguire from Derby the striker think he didnt get much of a chance there and was on loan at pompey last season for a while, Gardner signed yesterday, just hope he stays injury free

Keiran Lee from Oldham is a decent player...ex man U I believe. Was their most accomplished player against us the season before last.

no mate , i think u always get a few fans living in the past , im more realistic and just glad to be back at a decent standard of league , wednesday are just like 80% of clubs in this league hoping to get to the premiership, Brighton with a new ground and potential are one of those, hope u have a great day in september , apart from the result

"We are just trying to sort it out. We cannot confirm if he is going to stay or not because that's not fair. We cannot do something that isn't done but I would say it is a big chance, 90 per cent or 95 per cent that he will stay." - Gus

Can't be bothered to wade through this thread :) but this is my contribution. Job done IMO

Nor can I be bothered to. However, I thought we had a second year option under his original contract? Gus had sort of implied that he would not hold him to it if he wanted to go though. He also said that other, better quality, signings were needed to tempt him to want to stay. I am sure he has been very well managed by Gus and the rest of the Club, so why would he want to go anywhere else?
