I was rather hoping they would qualify. They are fairly entertaining..... Oh well. Will have to settle for life without the Turks

The team might be entertaining but lets face it their fans make ours look like prefects.

Fair enough. I am sure people think that about us though!

I am getting very excited about the World Cup. Lots of interesting African teams in it.

Lots of Turks in Germany with no team to support - recipe for violence.

I imagine the Swiss, who would have stayed at home eating Toblerone and fondue in their chalets, will now hop over the border and start snuffling spare tickets, so not good for the casual fan.

A friend of mine was in Switzerland last weekend and said that the Swiss seemed strangely uninterested in the fact that they'd beaten Turkey and, in fact, seemed more interested in the England and Argentina match.

They're a strange people.

Well of course, the Swiss are used to running everything - why do you think so many international organisations are there?

Good riddance to them. The players are dirty cheats and the fans are scum. Here ends the sweeping statement.

Turks took defeat well and kicked some Swiss players in the tunnel - nice.

Wonder what Blatter will do, slap their wrists - doubt it

I just saw that on the news...

Blatter is currently looking for a way to blame the English for the violence.
