The worst thing about the 'Special Relationship' is that it has been a major hindrance to us making a firm commitment to the EU.
The fact is because of the Commonwealth and the shared language / cultural ties with the USA we have far more global influence than any other EU state so should be BOSSING what goes on in Brussels and Strasbourg. Instead, we get the arse-end of the deal with both the Yanks and the Eurolanders.
