What is it with football nowadays, the manager hasn't got things right in the first couple of months so he needs to be sacked??

Do you not mean Brian (Nobby) Horton who it must be remembered started the rebuilding at Gillingham before MA took over.

However, he wouldnt come back as his roots are now firmly in Cheshire and his wife has a very good job with much more security than a football manager.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Premiershit to Division 3, probably not...
Anyway he's been here before and preferred Port Vale.

No, but he needs to take a very hard look at himself. Because currently we are witnessing a potential promotion chasing team turn into a team of strangers who...

Haven't won for TWO months
Have scored only ONE goal in the last FOUR games
Are sliding towards a relegation battle
Do not play like or look like a team.

Because in this case Adams is a tactical midget, he has the players but he hasn't got a clue how to manage a team that plays football. Big lumbering players and hoof ball is so 90's and that is where Adams made his name, is the only way he knows and it will no longer work above League 2 where he had his finest moments. (Leicester was a steering job with somebody else's team, once he tried to build a side himself they got relegated, playing the same shit football we are now playing)

Do we need to get relegated before you grasp this?

Didn't do too well in his last few years in management, based up north, and he's knocking on a bit isn't he? I would think his current job suits him down to the ground.

I seem to remember they were a sinking ship when he was appointed manager, then he got them promoted back to the premiership, where lack of investment forced them into relegation, finishing 3rd bottom which was no disgrace.

Pretty sure that they kept virtually the whole team when they got relegated and Adams was part of the sinking ship the previous season when they got relegated from the Premiership.

Interesting to see on the details below that he quit after a shit start to the season following his 2nd relegation with them...he quits quite a bit doesn't he..so there is hope for us yet.

From Wikipedia

In October 2001, Adams left Brighton to become assistant manager to Dave Bassett at Leicester City.[1][2] Peter Taylor, the former Leicester manager, was drafted in to complete Brighton's promotion campaign.

Adams, meanwhile, spent six months working under Bassett and during that time Leicester were almost permanently stuck to the bottom of the Premiership. In April 2002, just before relegation was confirmed, Adams was promoted to the manager's seat while Bassett became Director of Football.[3]

Despite Leicester going into receivership with debts of £30million and being banned from the transfer market until a takeover was completed, Adams was able to guide them to promotion back to the Premiership at the first attempt - they ended the 2002–03 season as Division One runners-up behind champions Portsmouth.

Leicester slipped back down again in 2003–04 in 18th place, bracketed together with the two other relegated sides - Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers - whose goal difference was inferior to Leicester's.

Adams resigned as Leicester manager in October 2004 after a poor start to the Coca Cola League Championship campaign dashed the club's hopes of an instant return to the Premiership

Quite. The only time the players seem to share any kind of team spirit seems to be at penalty shoot-out time. Apart from that, there's no obvious sense of unity or common purpose. Never used to be like that.

Are you talking about the midlands town of Burton-on-Trent, or did he actually manage "up north" before then?
Sorry, I was talking about Horton. Not sure about Clough either though for what it's worth.
