Why did his R/R slow right down? Good bowling?

Yes, sensing a declaration Notts brought Sidebottom back on to bowl who'd bowled very well without success throughout the innings as Notts needed an extra wicket to secure their extra bowling point, thus avoiding any threat of relegation. Also Patel came on at the other end and turned the ball (as previously mentioned).
