Ok, Western Europe

And long may it last! I used to love the snow and cold, but as I've grown older and more boring, I now find it too inconvenient and especially resent the cost of heating my home when it's minus 10 outside or something. Give me mild!

Would love snow but this winter has been fairly pleasurable.

Very little rain , lots of sunshine early part of Jan . Hardly any storms.

The mercury will plummet as an Arctic plunge sweeps the isles causing around 3 inches of snow to fall over vast areas of UK ground on Saturday, according to meteorologists at WXCharts.

In maps, the weather agency shows a massive snow front sweeping across Britain from the northwest, covering Scotland first before moving south.

Netweather also reported there is an 80 to 100 per cent chance of snow hitting high grounds from January 31.

But the wintry front is set to spread south, affecting areas all over Britain as we move into February."

Moving into February, the largely settled and cloudy weather is likely to remain for most, with some rain and wind in the far northwest at times. Overall, temperatures are likely to be near or milder than average through this period, although some brief colder than average spells in the north are possible.

The current north-south split to the weather is likely to continue from mid-February and through to the second half of the month, with most seeing drier than average conditions. The northwest of the UK is likely to see some rain and strong winds at times. During this period, temperatures are likely to remain milder than average overall, with brief colder incursions possible in the north.

I must have missed the 3 inches of snow at the weekend and then snowy weather spreading to the South affecting all areas etc etc etc.

Some lovely warm spring sunshine in sheltered areas though.
