James, Darren's brother. He's played for Australia A and the U-19s. He's only 20 so a bit raw but is supposed to be pretty good.

if he is selected, I bet the Pattinsons will be only pair of brothers to play for different test teams - unless it happened during the partition of India.

With this Aussie squad the phrase "you can't polish a turd" comes to mind.
But, as my charming 16 year old daughter says, "You can roll it in glitter".

that was QUALITY last night, did'nt last long enough until my eyes shut though so need to watch the highlights later to see the last two wickets. Probably get up early tomorrow morning instead of staying up late but we'll see.

Alarm set for 5am - see two whole sessions with no heavy eyelids. Hope Gwylan is right and I'm waking up to see England only two down.

My Day 2 prediction:

107-2 lunch - Strauss and Pietersen. Bit of fight from the Aussies, fairly turgid resistance.
199-4 tea - Strauss and Bell. Runs flow nearer tea as ball gets older.
319-6 stumps - Prior and Swann. Captain falls just after tea with gutsy ton, Prior sees England past Aussie total and into handy position for Day 3.

We need to really hammer them tomorrow and end up getting a final total of 500 plus

only 2 more hours to go, or rather two episodes of CSI. made it till 0430 day one, had a kip earlier so a repeat performance is on the cards. That said I am a fickle bastard and an early rush of wickets will see me heading for bed

58/0 already, good start & more calamitous Australian fielding.

am always loathe to put the mockers on things, like Boycott does, but hard not to say that after just 30 mins a few heads are low in the aussie camp already
