Reporting from Melbourne- where there are quite a few Seagulls shirts

A pretty garbage effort from England to date. Flintoff bottled it by not putting them into bat and then had gave really easy runs away by poor field placings.

We have had only one good session - this morning we bowled very well but lack the killer touch

The weather has been awful like early April in Hove and with the Albion losing as well - not a great few days!!

Let us all hope that Fletcher gets the chop- picking crocks and his own pets has been hopeless and gave the initiative to the Aussies

With a lead of 260 - Ponting sets a very conservative field for Lee to Strauss, with just 2 slips, and a deep gully !

28-0 at lunch. Strauss 12* and Cook 15* survive the tricky mini-session before lunch, despite significant lateral movement and some playing and missing.

Also as a result of Rudi Koertzen failing to give an LBW to McGrath that pitched middle and would have hit Cook's middle stump half way up!

232 behind with 10 wickets in hand - and The Barmy Army are in fine voice!

Typical! Bloody typical.

Cook drags on to Clark soon after lunch for 20* :nono:

41-1 Bell comes to the crease and KP is padded up and looks like coming in at the fall of the next wicket.

Sod it! Bell fingered by Rudi (hitting top of middle) for just 2, McGrath bags test wicket no. 557

48/2 KP does come in at 4

Pitiful really.

I thought they would have a bit more fight in them than this.

Umpires have been pretty ordinary, but it's been going both ways.

Very disappointing series.
