People can mutter darkly about conspiracies, or provide endless clinical legal analysis. But all this loses sight of the central issue for me — that a married man in the public eye with a future plan to enter politics, shouldn’t sleep with porn stars and blithely pay them off to keep quiet. The morality of Trump’s actions, and the sheer folly and level of misjudgment displays massive character weaknesses not fitting for a president. It amazes me that his supporters and apologists never stop and think about the character of the man.

I know of nobody who has called Trump classy. Not being a polished professional politicians is one of his draws, these political times are not short of irony if you care to look.

I’m told he’s unlikely to serve jail time however, so at least he won’t have to wear an orange jumpsuit.

2. House arrest or some such punishment but on the proviso that he drops out of politic.

I think that there will be a ‘health issue’ that’ll keep him out of prison which leads to option 2.
