Thatcher was a total f***ing bitch. I was living in Liverpool in the late 80's and saw first hand what she did to working class communities. At this stage however, she is nothing but a sad spiteful old cow, who embarrasses her party every time she speaks. She is an irrelavance, and the only impact that her death will have on my life will be if the selfish bitch stays true to form and snuffs it on a day when I had something good to watch on telly, that gets rescheduled for some sycophantic bollocks on the BBC.

Labour totally f***ed this country in the 70's along with the union barons. As for shipbuilding, we couldn't compete with the the cheap labour from the far-east, and guess what, we still can't.
Why can't you left-winger socialists see reality. Virtually the whole world is moving to a capitalist economy. The socialist model has been proved not to work. Yes, France does reasonably well, but ONLY beacuse of the support it gets from the CAP, and protecting it's own industries while trying to run services in other countries. Why don't we do that, well it's inefficient and costly. Let the market decide and, overall, things are better run and cheaper.
Thatcher was not perfect, but she did a good job. Even Gordon Brown is not proposing to roll back any trade union reforms.
