Before then I would guess.

Aim for a 450 lead, so with 7 wickets in hand that should only be another hour or so's batting....

I was thinking if they have four sessions to bat and Shah was in decent nick, then we might be wise to aim for more than 450...It has been done before. Plus Rana, is he struggling with injury?

Yeah, I think we'd need a lead of 500. Let Mushy and Ollie spin them out.

I would say 500 odd aswell with Rana out.

Should comfortably get there by tea if we carry on at this rate.

Sussex have just this morning put on 160-odd. With Shah capable of scoring big it would be folly to give Middlesex 4 whole session to chase anything less than 450. If they ended today 100-0 chasing that total they'd fancy it tomorrow.

I'd be aiming for a lead of c. 475 and put them in 30mins before tea.

288-3 now

Why does this commentator keep thinking that we've just had a tea interval?

No reason why that can't be 500+, especially if Matty Prior carries on like this. But yup, a few overs before tea to rattle the Middlesex openers would be good.
