The squad for the 2023 Summer Series in the US last year was

Moises Caicedo, Yasin Ayari, Facundo Buonanotte, Julio Enciso, Simon Adingra, Tom McGill, Deniz Undav, Jan Paul van Hecke, Joel Veltman, Lewis Dunk, Billy Gilmour, Pascal Gross, Adam Lallana, Tariq Lamptey, Solly March, Jason Steele, Danny Welbeck, James Milner, Adam Webster, Evan Ferguson, Jack Hinshelwood, Kaoru Mitoma, Joao Pedro, Steven Alzate, Pervis Estupinan, Carl Rushworth, Bart Verbruggen, Imari Samuels, Mahmoud Dahoud, Jensen Weir, Cameron Peupion, Benecio Baker-Boaitey, Ed Turns.

Caicedo, Lallana, Alzate, are the only 3 players who have subsequently left the club.
But only 18 of that 32 are on the Japan tour.

Still think we need a RB/RWB (hopefully the Turkish lad) and a box to box midfield (whoever is next on the list after KDH).

In an ideal world I’d like to see us upgrade Igor. And it sounds like the Croat is in the ‘if a great player comes available’ bucket, even if it seems a position were now well stocked in.

Thanks for compiling, quick comment - a couple on there should be counted as U21 and/or HGP but aren't as it stands. Generally those who have graduated through the youth ranks.

Turns, Moran, O'Mahoney, Sarmiento, Ayari, Leonard, Rushworth for instance.

Also perhaps only relevant in the next season or two, but I believe Enciso and Buonanotte will count as HGP as we bought them young enough.

So, re finding a new right back, might Arnau Martinez (Girona), Jordan Teze (PSV), or Devyne Rensch (Ajax) be an option? Not sure what their wages are like but they're all academy products with a year left on their contracts, all at least several years younger than KWP as well for what it's worth.

I struggle to believe we're bringing in a 24 year-old from a Mexican club for a significant fee to be a 3rd choice keeper. Unless Steele is off and Mier is No.2. We'd still need a 3rd choice though.
