Just watch out for the stuff 'from our new album' according to me bruv who saw them in Aberdeen recently. At the first mention of the words 'new album' sprint to the bar/bogs and beat the rush.

'Alternative Ulster' is probably the one. Pretty brave to be singing in The Province in the seventies. Plus it, ahem, 'kicks ass'.

Great band in their day and Jake Burns is a top bloke, but I saw them about 10 years ago and was dissapointed at the plodding pub rock style they seem to play their songs in now.
But I suppose even old punkers have to slow down at some point.

You must have caught them on a bad day - 10 years ago. I don't think 'plodding pub rock style' comes near how they play now. I've seen them throughout their career and think they still come up to scratch.

Have emailed them insisting their upcoming US tour comes north of the border again.

Sad to see that Bruce Foxton has left the band though. He'll really be missed.

Isn't Rick Buckler the drummer or did I dream that?

You dreamt it. But there was a Jam connection. Bruce Foxton was the bassist (hence the pictures above) but he has now left after 15 years of sterling service. He has been replaced by Ali McMordie, the original bassist, for the tour.
