This old chestnut about humour eh!

If you're offended easily, why open threads with this type of title? The only reason that I can think of is so that you can appear to adopt the moral high ground. Same way that the church allows priests to abuse children, and then tells the congregation that they must live their lives on a certain way.

I found it funny, as I find most of these 'sick' jokes funny. Does that make me a bad, evil person? I know what type of people I would rather socialise with; and it's not the pompous, slef-righteous (and often hypocritical) type.

I meant when he went to Uni in the 50s for his BA. :)

He's more likely to have done a BSc surely? (First you get the uni wrong, then the course. I mean, really)

So if you see something that you disagree with you should ignore it ?
Hmm...... Not sure about that.
We all disagree with priests abusing children, should we just ignore it ?

Bad taste jokes on a internet forum being compared to members of the clergy abusing young children.
Have you thought about a job on the Daily Mail ?

Everyone gets BAs at Oxford, no matter what course you follow.

Edit: unless you're me, in which case you get chucked out after a year... :dunce:

'ove actually
DOUGAL: I dunno Ted. It was like that time we put on that variety show and you did that
impression of Stephen Hawking.

TED: He was the last person you'd expect to turn up. That was a million to one shot. God he
can fairly move in that wheelchair when he's angry!

Roger De Courcey is by far far a funnier venriloquist than Stephen Hawking.

If Hawking had a bear or summit then maybe........

Really - I did not know that.

(the BA thing, not you getting chucked out. What did you do to get thrown out by the way?)

No. But the point that I was trying to make is that there is a lot of hypocricy by people.

For example, there was an (older) guy in a company that I used to do some work for several years ago would read books about God/Jesus during his lunch-break. He would also slag people off, calling someone else (who had been awarded 'Worker Of The Year') Wanker Of The Year.

The point that I was trying to make is that too many people take a high moral stance, yet many have skeletons in their closets, hance the reference to the Priests and the Church - it was an analagy, nothing else.

My point was, why open something which by thte title you aren't going to approve of, and accuse people of being sick/racist/perverted or whatever, when all they are doing is posting something which is amusing to them (and I may add, a lot of others). They aren't commiting harm to anyone.

There are far more serious problems in the world today than the fact that many, many people take amusement from tragedy/disability/minorities. It's always happened, and it always will. It doesn't make it right, but it sure as hell doesn't make it wrong.

Most humour is based on taking the piss out of someone/ some group. I suppose you don't aprove of jokes about the Irish/Scottish/Asians/Muslims/Jews etc, etc.

Shocking header. He's taken his eye off the ball and it's coming off the TOP of his BONCE. That's going to be easy for the keeper. :nono:
