Southend - Steward assualt

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
That was not 'minimum force' and extremely dangerous considering he would have fallen back onto either bare concrete steps or other people who may easily have seriously injured themselves.

I know 3 people that got punched during celebrations after the first goal, however, these were accidental punches by fellow fans

When Michael Owen put England 1-0 up against Russia at wembley in the Euro 2008 qualifier, i accidententally elbowed the WOMAN next to me in the face!

What is the point of trying to hide it though?

ask NMH/zoobzoo

Thanks for asking.

NMH has been on this site for ten years, sometimes agitating or agitated, calling saddos like you "twat", and commenting on rubbish players who can't hit a cows arse with a banjo. I can say what I like and it's not representing the club - I am just another fan (not just like you because you are a frickin' idiot).

As a steward, imagine NMH meeting and greeting those "rubbish" players in the car-park, in a professional capacity. Imagine another regular Albion fan calling you a twat, then putting on his best professional face to welcome you to the ground?

In this professional job of stewarding, I represent the club with authority and cannot shout "get off the field O'Callaghan you are a pariah" or "wake up Magoo, unfold your arms and look like you can manage ffs".

People know NMH and can dislike my posts all they like....as a fan.
As a steward, there are things I just cannot say, opinions I can't express.

So, although one person more recent to posting on NSC who told in confidence of my other moniker decided that it was not to their liking and broadcast it - I was only posting under a pseudonym when it was of a professional and the best interest of the club and certain fans.

Now, we even get palace on here saying "can you believe the bloke winding us up on our site is a steward?" Well, can they believe a steward is also a fan (and struggles to contain himself when we score a goal - and what if we scored v palace and we steward/fans are in the away end? Grinning is allowed I imagine)

There really is not a big deal about having two monikers, none of us is actually NAMED by their North Stand Chat handle anyway!
Or were you really baptized "northstandnorth" as a baby by your parents? No? Oh well, YOU must be expressing opinions under two names then!
And there are OTHER people on here with more than one name - whether you, or anyone else likes it or not - and some of them are quite-likely higher-up in BHA than a steward! Yeah, howabout that...... Dick Knight releasing occasional tidbits of information under one name, and posting on football stuff as a normal fan!?? Why not? He comes from the terraces, he's an Albion fan! (and thank goodness).

There are Albion fans on here who post opinions and wind-ups, and yet act as moderators overseeing what everyone else says.
I know there are other stewards on here, and there are higher-ups with more than one moniker. Big f***ing deal.

This morning, I spoke with David Jobson, the Safety Officer at Roots Hall, about the incident. He agreed with me that stewards have power of restraint but should not commit assault. He said that he will look at the tape and get back to me.

He added that some Southend fans were being interviewed on suspicion of racially abusing the referee (not Kuipers, thankfully) and that Nicky Forster is being questioned by the police in connection with gestures allegedly made at Southend fans. I didn’t see Forster make any gesture at the home fans.

After he scored I saw him shrug at them, as if to say "Why are you giving me stick?"

That's all I saw.

Bad tempered match all round then!

The guy that got "assaulted" was huge, he looked like an all in wrestler, the lad that pushed him back was only about 18 and when the big lump got up and started squaring up to him the other Stewards their hotheaded juniour to the side. They all looked like they were bricking it.

Also, what was going on with the Southend fans immediately to our right, loads of stewards went running into them too?

And thirdly, did anyone see that chavvy "Firm" being escorted up the road by OB? someone in the spreadeagle said they had had a kicking in Southend earlier. Was it Das Reich and his merry men mayhaps

He was blowing kisses at them.
