brighton, actually
Bet you didn't...

see a collection of steam engines,

almost get run over by one of said steam engines.
watch people jump over loads of trampolines/bars
smash some plates,
get stuck in a portaloo

see a man guess people's ages to within 1 year..
AND be allowed to take a sledge hammer to a car!

all this a more, at the steam & country fair, Stotfold Mill (oop north somewhere in Hertfordshire i think..)

all in all, an intersting day out!

No, I did not do that.

I woke up, had a shower, watched the grand prix, had some roast, drove to Chichester, had a drink (singular) and then drove back again. A reasonably enjoyable day by all standards.

No I did not do that.

I went out round Hove looking at the Artists Open Houses as part of the Festival.
Stopped in the Albion in Church Road where they have live jazz, F1 on big screen AND good old fashioned cheese, porkie pies and mussels on the bar.
After more Open Houses, into the County Ground at about 4.30 for the climax of the Sharks win over Surrey.
Then in the Lion & Lobster for a bit of dinner and a couple of beers before bussing home.

Top Class day out!

- Met Peter Ward and Rick Marlowe for beers
- Watched Man U v Man City, Arsenal v Chelsea
- Had more beers with Ward and Marlowe, and Andy Rollings
- Then ruined Sir Duke at the Karaoke with the missus, then redeemed myself with a magical rendition of "We - are sailing" alongside Wardy, Marlowe, and Rollings
- Then to top it off NAILED a kofte kebab from from Hoves finest Golden Grill
- I then went to bed hugging the REMF trophy at 1am

No I did not do that. I

Took the dogs for a walk on Chailey common.
Stopped off for a pint in the Half Moon on the way home.
Screamed at my son to get up and do some bloody revision and no half past two was NOT 'first thing in the morning'.
Planted some tomatoes. (I've never done this before, I got them from Sainsburys. I assume the tin just rusts away and lets the plans grow?)

I did not do that. I

Still felt distinctly under the weather despite NOT going out for a great night at the Dogs with Wardy and Marlowe. So...
Had a nice lie in
Did some tremendously boring domesticity
Prepared CDs of REMF pics
Went out to Cuckmere Haven for a splendid walk down to the beach with Lord B and the Git Dog.
Felt better so came home to do more work!

got up with a hangover at 10.30, having been up till 5am. Walked past a dead cat (with tail removed) on the pavement, making me feel INFINITELY better :lolol:
Played some pitch and putt (the most insane cakes you have ever seen). Went to my mates, chilled out watching a film. Came home, watched motd2 and went to bed.

No, I didn't do that. I:

- 10am, in Mayfield to watch the Speldhurst Cricket Club Under 13's I coach loose narrowly to Mayfield in a stunning setting;
- too late to head home for lunch, so drove directly to Castle Hill (near Brenchley in Kent - former home of Watt Tyler and Sophie Rees Jones) in time for ham, egg and chips and a pint in the local pub;
- very enjoyable game against Castle Hill CC, another cricket pitch in an amazing setting;
- pint in their lovely club house;
- home for lasagne and a hour staring at Dr Alice;
- to bed, to dream.

Lovely day.

No I did not do that. I:

- went for a 14 mile run from Penicuik to Dalkeith and back. First long run since my knee started playing up a few weeks ago. Went ok.
- watched the first third of the Grand Prix.
- put the spare wheel on my wife's car then took it to KwikFit for a puncture repair.
- cooked a mean chilli and settled in to watch 3 episodes of Prison Break we'd put on a DVD.
- got a bit nervous about the job interview I have this afternoon.
