If Sven takes the black players off doesn't that show that we're giving into them?

Ignoring the noises and getting on with the game (hopefully scoring a couple) is the best way to handle it at the moment.

Totally agree, Yorkie.

Disgraceful as it was, I suspect only a minority of the Spanish fans were involved. Personally, I think it would be unfair to the team and the rest of the fans, who weren't abusing the black players to take such action. However, just how it will be stamped out I don't know, I guess it never will, whatever the penalties are. It is a sad fact of life that there will always be people who think it is OK and even amusing, to abuse others, whether it is down to race, appearance, homophobia etc. All are equally despicable. Wayne Rooney throwing down his black arm band was also totally disrespectful, bearing in mind the reason why the players were wearing them.

Bollocks FH, a very loud minority. You could hardly hear the England fans sing in that huge stadium. Yet when the monkey impressions rang out, that was the only thing you could hear, it was clearly more than a handful. Worst racism I've heard for decades.

I actually feel quite sick. Ive got the same feeling in my stomach as the first time I saw "Cry Freedom". I cant imagine how Ashley Cole & Shaun Wright Philips are feeling at the moment. They were targeted the most from what i could see. :nono:

Me too Chez. The only way to even start dealing with it is to ban the national side from playing in the WC.

Absolutely disgusting but as Starry said, it didn't surprise me, this is Madrid.

Some of you need to get off your high horses though, it's not as if our shit doesn't stink too. Also, in terms of having black people in their society, Spain is probably at the stage the UK was in about 1965. This kind of shit was normal in England 20 years ago....its not that long ago.

The Spanish FA need to admit it has a problem and UEFA/FIFA need to do something. There is no reason why people should have to play in those conditions.

Anyway, those type of people are one of the main reason I loathe Real Madrid

It left a bitter taste in my mouth after the game (and I'm not talking about the beer) it totally ruined what was in the first half at least, the most competitive friendly I've ever seen!

If ALL english clubs can be banned from Europe because of the actions of a minority of Liverpool fans then FIFA is well within their rights to ban Spain from the World Cup.

To say this still goes on over here is bollocks too IMHO. There may well be small pockets of it here and there but it is easy to deal with and if it happened at a Brighton came you would be out the stadium before your feet touched the ground. There is certainly nothing like the level of what we heard last night. That stadium holds 80,000 and to be able to hear it as clearly as that ALL game it was far from a small minority of inbreds doing it.

I'm not going to take the moral high ground and say that people still don't feel the same over here and that if they thought they could get away with it they would still stoop to those levels. BUT the difference is the Spanish fans obviously felt that they were not going to get punished for their actions. It is that failing on the part of the Spanish FA that needs to be address. I fine is feck all. They should be banned or nothing at all.

Let's kick racisim out of football.

Well the Spanish obviously are racists so lets kick them out of the world cup.

no messin

The right thing to do would have been for the FA to instruct Sven and his team to walk off.

For an organisation that endorses "Lets Kick Racism Out Of Football" they had a perfect high profile opportunity to get their message across and blew it.

However, given the lack of effort and sheer dirty play throughout by England the Spanish would have spun it as England quitting, rather than England taking a moral stance.

I am as angry about the lack of passion / effort / skill and sportmanship as I am about the racist chanting.

How can you label all Spaniards Racist? What a load of Bollocks!

There were an admittedly sad section of the crowd last night who were totally out of order but Real play in that stadium week in week out with black players on the pitch and there is never any racial abuse.

Beckham said last night its the first time hes ever heard it in that country!

Talk about knee jerk comment of the year!

Are we all Racist becasue that guy v Doncaster threw Bananas?

Are all of West Hams fans Homophobic becasue of gay taunts at us?

Get a f***ing grip!

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
Most countries have a proportion of fans that are racist. Spains appears to be a lot higher than most.

I would have walked off.

Not Luton! Thank God
Anyone speak, or write Spanish well?

We should write a letter to a Spanish paper, not ranting but expressing our disappointment that a country with a team that completeley outplayed us were totally let down by a section of their crowd.
