It is a part of our tradition and culture that the covering up of the face is perceived as the mark of a robber or thief. That may not actually be the case, but the perception and the culture is real - and other cultures who come to this country should respect it - just as we would have to conform in Arab countries.

That made me laugh out loud. So should we be suspicious of beekeepers?

No, because they cover their faces when they're dealing with bees. Same as motorcyclists very sensibly wear full-face helmets WHEN RIDING MOTORCYCLES - but they take the head gear off when it is not appropriate and don't go poncing around schools and shopping malls wearing them.
I've never met a bee-keeper fully togged up in Sainsbury's either.

Sorry but this smacks of double standards, can you see the priest when you go to confession...no, he is hidden away on the other side of that little window thing...do they present a security risk?

Thanks, this is hilarious. So not ownly are those muslims endangering the security of our religious indoctrination centres, they're also poncing round our shopping malls. The sneaky bastards.

You're right Voro, this thread is hilarious.

Are you for real Gully? How does that example demonstrate double standards by a school who believe that every person that enters it's premises should have their face visible in order to maintain a certain level of protection for children under their care and supervision?

If they want to maintain a certain level of protection for the children, surely they would need to ban any RC priests from coming onto the premises?
