The fact of the matter is i am not picking the team.
Micky is and obviously rates Thornton and i'm sure we will see him Sat.

So yes i am looking forward to it...

Of course, I just thought it was a bit of a strange comment to make, considering even the people that went to Northampton didn't get to see enough of him. Anyway, lets see what Saturday brings.

I read somewhere that Derby are willing to pay a large amount of his wages in order to facilitate the loan move.

Whatever I and others think of Savage, something has got to give soon here. Savage is sitting at Derby on £25k a week. Jewell has said he won't be in the first team. The guy wants to play. No one else in the Champ/League One is going to pay those wages.

Apart from anything else - what a terrible signing by Derby.

Savage boost for Albion

Albion's hopes of landing Robbie Savage on loan from Derby have been strengthened by a lack of interest from one of his former clubs, Crewe.

Derby boss Paul Jewell has quashed reports linking them with the Cheshire-based former Welsh international midfielder.

Jewell said: "Sav has got one or two other irons in the fire but there is nothing in the Crewe thing at all.

"I've had no contact from Crewe but Brighton want him. We'll have to wait and see - it will be Robbie's decision."

Savage is not currently part of Jewell's plans and Derby are prepared to pay a large chunk of his £24,000 a week wages to facilitate a loan move.

Interesting. But I still think we won't get his services.

it would be a win - win situation if he came here for a month and we had to cough up £6k a week towards his wages as another 500 would buy tickets to see him at Withdean. 2 home games in the month would nearly cover those expenses apart from his petrol money.

£8,000 a week is an AWFUL lot of money to pay for a little club like us. If Virgo is our highest paid player on £2,750 a week you are suddenly talking about paying someone almost 3 times as much and I would consider that breaking the wage structure, proven premiership star or not.

If he's still got his Lambo then they may as well round it up to £10k a pop innit

It's for a month, we're unlikely to get him again afterwards, he could well be disruptive, there's no guarantees he will perform, for a club like us I think 32k is pretty expensive and Thomson and Livermore have just started to show us what they can do.

Thomson has had ONE good game for us this season and Livermore TWO im not sure id say that was starting to show us what they can do. If its being paid for by one of the directors I fail to see the problem on taking a punt, he is going to want to play to put himself in the shop window. We wont get him permanently, but that doesn't bother me as the month he is with is it could change our season round.
