Where this money come fom?

I would suspect that if the board (or the blooms) were prepared to put up c£200k to sack McGhee, then that will be a chunk of it.

Add to that the Harding money (including any attempt to offset money from his swap so as to bypass tax in an agreement that leeds, ipswich and us would all benefit from), possible CKR sale, writing off any sell on from Currie (so they can sell him on without worrying about paying us) plus any budget not spent so far, I dont think we will be far off.

After last night's performance, no way can we afford to lose Jakey. Okay, so maybe they won't set the division alight, but I have rarely seen a more committed front pairing for the Albion than Jakey and Revell last night. Jakey was frightening the Gillingham back 4 as they couldn't tell what part of the pitch he'd turn up on next. Gatting hasn't scored for the first team and so far hasn't looked likely to, so a Championship side is hardly likely to go for him at this stage. My main worry would be that we push the boat out to get Parkin, he proves to be another Kitson and we lose a bright young striker. Of course if it meant we could get rid of stroppy draws, and remember any money for him is a profit, that would be another matter, and well worth considering. I can't really see it happening though, but then I did not expect us to have the bright start we have had.

Did Currie have a sell on? butthats a good point, I believe Newcastle only paid 9 million for Owen but wrote off the rest of the Woodgate money.

Even if we don't give up a player, Parkin would push one of them out of the side, as he would only come here if he was to be an everyday starter.

Difficult one, though, isn't it? I would have thought that neither Jakey nor Revell would have expected to feature from the start of the season, but circumstances have dictated otherwise and I'm rather glad they have, though to still have a potentially disruptive influence in the dresssing room can hardly help. Still, McGhee has always said he wants a target man, and that Revell was meant to be a second striker. Where that leaves Jakey though, who knows? I suppose it is only two games into the season, and you can't be sure how Jakey will perform against some of the defenders built like brick you know whats, though maybe his pace will hurt them.

With the team and formation as it is i would have thought he would replace OGH as the central striker as that role doesn't suit him that well.

Looked much better when he and Revell switched

But a Revell / Parkin / Jakey partnership sounds good to me

I think if Parkin came, you would put him up front with Revell. Revell seems to be a hard worker and chase after a lot of balls, and this will help set-up Parkin. That leaves Jakey as the reserve in case of injury, or he could split the supportive attacking midfield role with Coxy. Unfortunately OGH is the oddman out here...

If CKR is sold to anybody for more than £250,000 we paid for him then I can see this happening:clap2:

We actually only paid £55k [plus £45k to follow] for CKR.

Everybody talks about £250k because that was the Coca-cola prize. The rest of that went on wages.

Brighton striker is offered to Town

UNSETTLED Brighton attacker Colin Kazim-Richards has been offered to Ipswich Town as a part of a deal to take Sam Parkin to the Withdean Stadium.

But Blues boss Jim Magilton is reluctant to allow Parkin to leave and last night revealed he is considering starting the striker at Leicester City, on Saturday.

Magilton admitted he is a fan of Kazim-Richards, known as the Coca-Cola Kid, after being bought by the Seagulls from prize-money in a national competition.

The former Bury striker was unhappy at being left out of Tuesday's game with Gillingham and slapped in a transfer request which, ironically, was rejected by manager Mark McGhee.

Magilton said: “I watched him play last season and in both the games against us he did very well and is an exciting player that I like.

“But Sam is still very much part of my plans and nothing will happen. Sam is very much in my thoughts for Saturday. He came on against Wolves and did well and it is in my mind to start him at Leicester.

“I'm very happy for Sam to be in this squad because even when he was not playing he did an important job because he provided competition for other players.

“Sam has a proven goal record and I know he can do a very good job for us here.”

The Blues have missed out on Manchester United defender Paul McShane, with West Brom believed to be keen on taking him as part of a deal that would take keeper Tomasz Kuszczak to Old Trafford. Town have already turned their attentions to another defender and are in negotiations with a club.

He said: “I would like to provide cover and competition for Jason (De Vos) and Richard (Naylor). Although we have Fabian (Wilnis) I would like to bring in a defender. I have made an inquiry about a player and something could happen in the next day or so.”The Blues are today waiting for a decision by West Ham midfielder Mark Noble on whether he will join them on loan, with Hull City also an option for the 19-year-old. Magilton said: “We have approached West Ham with a view to taking Mark Noble on loan and they have agreed. They have put it to the player and it is now up to him to decide and that is what we are waiting on.

“It would be fantastic if he chooses to come to us, but if he doesn't then we will continue the search.”

The need to strengthen in midfield has increased with Owen Garvan told to go home to Dublin and take a complete rest after being diagnosed with post-viral fatigue syndrome following his attack of shingles last month. Garvan is unlikely to be ready for action until at least next month.

The Blues have been impressed with 21-year-old former Newcastle United wide midfielder Martin Brittain, who is on trial at Portman Road following a trial with Kilmarnock.

Magilton said: “He has been training with us and has done very well. We will monitor him for a while and see how he goes.”

The only way we will get Parkin is if he is deperate for regular 1st team footy. If its one thing that kills a footballers motivation and job satisfaction its playing week in week out in the reserves infront of one man and a dog.

Also, I know from a mate of mine who is a Ipswich fan that Parkin got ALOT of stick when he played last season, maybe, hopefully he could be sick of it and looking 4 a fresh start somewhere? Doubt it, but u never know...

Looks like thats the end of CKR then. Oh well, we dont need another Leon, stroppy little git chucking his weight around causing bother.

I'd agree totally with that, but they have a new manager this year, so things might be different. Which is a shame.

I suppose another thing we can hope is that in football people often say things and then do the opposite.

Just like Elephant man saying "im off up north" and then going to Charlton. We can only hope the "Parkin not for sale" statement could be another example of this and they turn around and flog him.

I guess we will see...

Yea they do, but i think we can dodge that if CKR is "given" to them in as a makeweight in any deal that is done. Like when Bobby left the yids for west ham, we got zip out of that deal.

I may be wrong though.
