In the shadow of Seaford Head
Dana Reeve has died of lung cancer.

The 44-year-old non-smoker was diagnosed in August 2005, and immediately began chemotherapy. However, she passed away on Monday, only two years after husband Christopher Reeve died from an infection in a pressure wound.

Christopher Reeve Foundation president Kathy Lewis stated: "We are extremely saddened by the death of Dana Reeve, whose grace and courage under the most difficult of circumstances was a source of comfort and inspiration to all of us."

Reeve had spent most of her life caring for her husband after his paralysis in a riding accident. Called a "saint" by Catherine Zeta Jones, Reeve guest starred in shows including Feds and Oz.

What a charming and caring individual you are.

Your family must be so proud:angel:

edit: I,ve just seen your post on the RIP Ali Farka Toure thread - "Maybe he will be up there shagging christoper reeve's wife.( after all he could not do it for the last few years!)"

Just confirmed my first thoughts on you

I know - only their 14 year old son is left - how awful must it be for him.

Almost everyday now we hear about deaths because of cancer. It frustrates me so much that it hasnt been eradicated yet.

Sorry, but this is NOT a club website - this is a forum for footall fans.

A 14 year old boy loses both parents to tragic circumstances and someone posts a thread on it.

This is a human interest story - like a said Why open such a thread if you're so inhuman?

Did they ever come to Brighton?

so what the Fu@k is it doing on a club website???

try and visit www.whodiedtoday.com

Ok then, if we're talking about what a club website should / shouldn't have - why is there the "Word Association" thread or the War thread on here?

This is just a forum for people with one common interest - that they support the club. It isnt the "club website". If you do want to go on the club website then use the Seagulls official message board.

I for one was saddened by hearing that she had gone, because of cancer, as she was a very loyal woman to her husband, and didnt just "run with his money" when he had the fall. She had done a massive amount of charity work for the Christopher Reeve Foundation, so she wasn't just "any old person." Her story shows that everyone is affected by cancer, be they smokers or non-smokers, famous or not, young or old - and further highlights what charities such as cancer research are trying to fight.
