Stay put great piece of our history and a brilliant season by someone who got close to Wardys scoring record. Fan power can be naff at times. Club can always add more. I like to remember him for his talent not his wasted career.

Isn't Ward's record 35, 36 something like that? 27 isn't so close. I remember it being talked about as a possibility at one point in that season, but he didn't really get near it, the goals dried up as it went on as I recall.

Are their players between him and Wardy record, i thought Leons was second. I remember it as a good season long campaign with him as the key striker.

To be honest i was always surprised he was there. He is a disgrace as a man let alone a former Brighton player. Take him down and replace with Gary Hart or Kuipers.

I dunno. I don't really know what Knight's done to deserve this thread. But I'll start you off with 'if Bobby Zamora was to murder a group of people and bury them in the woods, his image should be removed from the legend's wall'

Then I'd be posting a poll:

"Should I change my daughter's middle name from Zamora to something else?"

(seriously)

All league and cup matches.

1. 36 - Peter Ward - 1976-77
2. 35 - Arthur Attwood - 1932-33
3. 32 - Hugh Vallance - 1929-30
3. 32 - Garry Nelson - 1987-88
5. 31 - Bobby Zamora - 2000-01
5. 31 - Bobby Zamora - 2001-02
7. 29 - Arthur Attwood - 1931-32
8. 28 - Tommy Cook - 1923-24
8. 28 - Bernard Moore - 1945-46
8. 28 - Albert Mundy - 1955-56
8. 28 - Kit Napier - 1967-68
12. 27 - Sam Jennings - 1926-27
12. 27 - Alec Law - 1935-36
12. 27 - Peter Harburn - 1955-56
12. 27 - Fred Binney - 1975-76
12. 27 - Leon Knight - 2003-4

All of these, with the exception of Bobby Zamora in 2000-01, were in Division 3.

Our highest ever goalscorer for one season in the top two divisions was Bill Curry with 26 (23+3) in 1959-60. :)

Speak for yourself.

I always do. But really, I don't like the guy or approve of what he did the other day on Twitter, but I don't see why that should detract from his 27 goal season 8 years ago.

If we're going to be consistent, if Dean Hammond can be forgiven for what he did three years ago, then the Leon Knight of 2004 can be forgiven for what he did eight years in the future.
