There are too many people who arn't really up to standard for their jobs, for example - they accept second rate work by contractors, agree to pay over the top estimated prices for work and sign it off without really checking the work has been done to a good enough standard or put right if it isn't.

Eg - at the place i worked there were a series of garages, they needed repairing (as they had become rotten at the bottom) but they were painted first before the rotten sections were repaired - why? - also the painting work was very substandard, they failed to paint to the edges of the doors, leaving a small border around the whole thing because they refused to open the doors to paint it.

They claim to work to 'Best value' but this means cheapest to them and not is actually upto the job its required for, so long term it actually costs the taxpayer more not less.

Departments constantly changing names should also stop, this means extra costs due to changing all their stationary, leaflets etc they have the old name on - was it really necessary? - I believe not.
