I dont see what the link with noise is, that isnt in debate. sounds like the same old crap about why gays are persecuted for cruising in the parks... they arent, its illegal who ever does it. same thing here, doesnt matter if its gay or hetro, they shouldnt be littering up the place and being indecent in public. if you shagged your missus up against a car (as my friend found one Pride weekend) on a friday night down west street you'd be arrested, why should it be different for someone around preston park?

Brighton is well known for this event so lets be proud of it.

but lets make sure it stays as something Brighton can be proud of eh? football fans have had to clean up our act and BHA have had to be very good boys and girls to play at Withdean. Same should go for Pride.

It brings a bucket load of cash into the city, if it is not your thing, find something else to do. At the end of the day it is only the parade to the park that will inconvience people for a couple of hours.

Have to say normally it is on the opening day of the season, so am not in Brighton when it is on. If the cricket goes to a fourth day will probably head to Horsham, but anything that brings cash into the city is a good thing.
i personally think brightons gay population have been a great benefit to the city and have made it the "trendy" place to live that it is ,i was driving out of brighton a couple of years ago on pride day and had to chuckle at the grown man walking down london rd dressed as wonder woman, but what a majority of people dont want , especially if you live around preston park is to see gays having sex in the bushes et al, or sed condoms liberally strewn around the place ,everyone to their own fair enough but i dont want to see it.

I don't want to see Hypodermic needles and broken glass in parks and on beaches.I don't want to see graffiti on buildings and other public areas.I don't want my head kicked in at 2am when leaving a club.

no, neither do most people. thats why the council are supposed to clean up the beach and buildings and the police are there to arrest those commiting assult, graffiti, littering and creating a public nuisance or otherwise breaking the law. equality is about treating everyone the same, not suspending some laws for a few people one weekend.

I live bang on Preston Park and if anyone wants to do some bumming in the bushes it's fine by me. Some people are far too uptight about this sort of thing.

I suppose in this politically correct world of tree hugging do-gooders

You don't help your argument by using the lingua franca of the predictable and slow of thought. Leading your case with massive generalisations and clichés does tend to make one think that the rest of your argument may be less than thoroughly thought through.

Because they don't care who sees them! Oh and the fact it is illegal!

Not uptight about it at all each to their own but no gay f***ing in public

.......but you have to once the seal is broken

nonsense, I used to live on Preston Park (Avenue) and the place is fecking trashed the next day, in the middle of that park, used condoms, needles, gay pornos, empty poppers bottles, smashed bottles

fair play though they do a decent job of cleaning it up quickly

A mate of mine once made a good comment. He said the good thing about gay events is that it runs the idiots out of town. They dont come anywhere near something like this which makes for a decent and chav free afternoon.

You've obviously not been to Brighton pride for a while, there's been vast amounts of pissed-up chavs the last couple of years

Isn't Pride the reason why our opening game of the season is ALWAYS away?

Mind you had to laugh when a top-down convertible full of screaming glammed-up queens was stuck in slow-moving traffic on the A23 one sunny Saturday. The look on their faces as hundreds of football fans suddenly came streaming out of Withdean ...
