Loose on Monday night and this could get interesting for us again. Win and we will be out of the dogfight for the moment!

Wonder if that result will have any impact on Palace rushing Zaha back for our game with Fulham to come after...

Quite clear 2 out of the 3 going down, hopefully will stuff the Scum on Monday Night and pull well away from the final slot.

Can't believe I sat through all 90 mins of that when the outcome was all but inevitable. Still genuinely annoyed we didn't beat 10 man Sheffield Utd. They are second season Huddersfield level of shit.

Poor league this season though.

I was thinking that. Chances are Zaha misses both matches but I think Roy will park the bus against us and hope he has Zaha against Fulham.

Suddenly looks a lot tighter again. Two spots taken let's keep out of the 3rd

Let’s get some perspective here. Fulham have just beaten a team that is way adrift at the bottom of the PL by one goal, and who were denied a late penalty by an inept referee and VAR. Ok we should have beaten both teams earlier in the season but I think we all expected a Fulham win tonight.

But yes, it does appear tighter!

He’ll park the bus against us with or without Zaha, it’s what he does when he knows he cannot afford to play open against a team, and he can’t afford to against us because we’d batter them, but we struggle against teams that defend deep for 75 mins and he knows it.

Bang on - Roy is ABSOLUTELY targeting a 0-1

I'm slightly more confident now that our players are allowed to shoot outside the box. We just need Ali Mac or Biss to ping one in the top corner.

For me that was an odd penalty.

My viewings of the replay went something like:-

No
No
No
Stonewall.
No.

I think it was the camera from behind the goal on the farthest side that gave it.

It seems a little harsh to blame the ref and as a pundit recently said about VAR:-

"These decisions even out over the course of a season" :lolol:

Hmmm....normally you and I agree but....this is probably the strongest top flight ever. At the start of the season I was genuinely concerned where we would pick up points. That said, the Blunts seems to have crossed the rubicon of shitness, owing to the lack of quality, loss of key players and, now, loss of belief. It hurt my eyes to watch them yesterday. But as we move up the table....WBA, Newcastle and Palace are poor....Stains erratic....the rest are decent. Just at random, look at the utter dogshit in the bottom half in 2017 (picked at random).

Fourth bottom have 40 points. They won't have this season. Relegated Hull got 9 wins. Fulham will need to win more in their final 13 games than they did in their first 25 to get there. Man City will likely have run away with the league by game week 32 and every other side except for Man U, Leicester, Villa and Leeds are either getting lucky or under achieving.

Beyond that the quality of some games is utter dogshit. Early on Leeds 4 Fulham 3 may have been entertaining for the neutral but it contained some of the worst defending I've ever seen in an elite game. Clearly Parker agreed and changed half the squad with the result that they now specialise in low scoring draws. Fulham / Sheff U last night was Championship standard. The West Brom game was League 1.

In my defence, I know absolutely nothing about football tactics. I watch the experts drawing lines on screens at the end of the game and marvel. None of that Pythagorian zone-management and press-timing had occurred to me during the game, which had passed me by as its usual blur of flair and wizardry, or not as the case may be.

Seriously, though, to hell with the points tallies in that list, look at the teams and remember their contribution to the pantheon of football legend. Hull. Middlesborough. Sunderland. Stoke. Barnsley. Stockport. Swindon. Crystal Palace. Need I say more* ???

*I may have made the names of some of those EPL relegation candidates up.
